New Parents

Congratulations on your new arrival! We can’t wait to meet you and your beautiful new baby!

If your little one was born in Hull Women & Children’s Hospital then the hospital midwife should have given you one of Downright Special’s New Parent Packs containing up-to-date useful information for you to read as well as information about Downright Special.

Inside is also information on how to contact our New Parent Volunteer who would love to talk to you and provide any support you might need in these all-important early days when you may have lots of questions about your baby.  Ask your midwife or health visitor to contact us on your behalf if that would be easier.

Green insert information - Please make sure that your Personal child health record (the red booklet) has the green insert for babies born with Down Syndrome

Great expectations DVD - families from Downright Special share some of their own experiences of parenting a child with Down syndrome, from the early weeks through to pre-school years.  We hope you find this useful.

Friday Sessions

We're delighted to announce that our Winter sessions will continue to be face to face. We have the following dates to share.





Note Easter holidays cover 15th and 22nd so no sessions on those dates

Note half term on the 3rd so no session on that date

We regularly have visitors to our Friday sessions, whether they be healthcare professionals, friends from the community or old faces returning to have a catch up with us.
